Dr. Vidhu Kampurath

Dr. Vidhu Kampurath P is a doctoral degree holder in Farm Power and Machinery (Agricultural Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.  He has more than 19 years of experience in Research & Development, Academics and Administration. Prior to his current assignment, he worked in various capacities viz., Dean – Research & Development, Founder Head of Department of Applied Engineering and Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering at VFSTR Deemed University, Guntur. He has authored many research articles, conference papers, book chapters and bulletins and attended many national and international trainings and conferences. He was awarded best student during masters’ programme. He has guided many graduate, post graduate and doctoral students. His areas of interest are Design of improved farm machinery, Ergonomics in Agriculture, Precision farming and ICT enabled agriculture.

 Academic Achievements

  • Merit scholarship holder from 1992 – 94 for securing highest marks.
  • Co – Author of Four Test Codes for the approved ergonomic evaluation of farm machinery.
  • Guided 09 Undergraduate and 06 Post Graduate students in Mechanical and Agricultural Engineering. Doctoral Supervisor to four part time candidates.
  • Established the Agricultural Engineering undergraduate stream in VFSTR Deemed to be University.
  • Established Post graduate stream in Farm Power and Machinery in the Applied Engineering Department of VFSTR Deemed to be University. 
  • Prepared the innovative R16 curriculum with skill orientation for the undergraduate programmes of Agricultural Engineering, Automobile Engineering and Mechatronics.
  • Conducting around 08 training programmes every year as Course Coordinator and around 25 programmes as Course Director.
  • Currently heading the Educational Cell of NIPHM, which coordinates all educational programmes of the Institute.
  • Design and development of farm machinery.
  • Testing of farm machinery based on standard codes.
  • Ergonomic evaluation of machinery.
  • Good working knowledge in MS office and all related packages.
  • CAD/Analysis programmes like AutoCAD, Creo, ANSYS.
