Identification features

  • Body and head black to dark brown; head short and broad, densely punctuate, eyes prominent, not sexually dimorphic.
  • Antennae red-orange in colour and pronotum about twice as broad as long, with a small and sharp lateral tooth.
  • Elytra about 0.25 times as long as broad, with dark brown pubescence, dorsal surface with medial longitudinal band made of whitish hairs and white oblique band in the anterior half.
  • Females are similar to male in body sculpture except basal for and 11th antennal segments are reddish, remaining black.
